another awesome day

spent the day digging up FREE plants to plant in our yard!

fabulous dinner

had some friends over for dinner--couple friends!--and had a great time! if i were any good at taking photos of food, i'd include snapshots of what i made.

alas, i am not.

They both turned out so well! Dinner was great, conversation was fabulous, all in all a great night!

I also spent all of my day cleaning the kitchen. 10-7 cleaning and scrubbing. Strangely, it doesn't really show unless you know where to look. I cleaned the coffee pot, the cupboards (reorganized), scrubbed the fridge, cleaned out the oven, and scrubbed the floor like nobody's business.



Technically it could use some more scrubbing, but I'm choosing not to think about that....

Travels

Went to a sculptural garden today, it was great! I'm including a couple pics below, it was fun...like a botanical garden meets art museum.

this is in the main conservatory path in the big greenhouse. there were so many great plants and displays! there were also sculptural displays intermixed in the plants, here's a closeup of one of the funkier ones:

They were so cool--the majority of the gardens were actually outside. So you'd be wandering around and as you turned a corner, you'd see this:

Unfortunately, it wasn't the best of days to go walking about, however:

All-in-all, it was a great day! I followed up my adventure with a trip to a local cafe where I got soup and quite possibly the most amazing scone in the history of the world (it was that good). I'm pretty excited abou life. Not sure what I'm doing tomorrow while the hubs is in business meetings. Maybe the zoo?
